How Mega Ball works

Every card holds 24 numbers between 1 and 51 on a 5×5 grid with a free square in the middle, and one player may buy as many as 200 cards per round. The machine draws 20 balls; a line means a complete row, column or diagonal. Then a multiplier is picked and the Mega Ball comes out, with a second one sometimes drawn after it. When the Mega Ball number finishes a line on a card, all of that card's winnings get multiplied. Roughly 1,300 rounds are played each day.

Multipliers and how often they come

Evolution doesn't reveal how often each multiplier shows up, so these numbers are taken from our archive covering the last 30 days. The most common by far are ×10 and ×5, at 31.5% and 30.7% of rounds, then ×12 (13.2%), ×15 (10.5%), ×20 (7.9%) and ×25 (4.5%). ×50 appeared in 1.1% of rounds, roughly one in 92, and ×100 in 0.63%, roughly one in 159. Our archive contains gaps of over 400 rounds with no ×100. Each round is independent, so a long gap does not make the next ×100 any closer.

Payouts and RTP

The payout on a card depends on how many lines it completes: one line gives back the stake, two lines pay 5×, three lines 50×, four lines 250×, five lines 1,000× and six or more 10,000× the card price, before any Mega Ball multiplier is applied. For a single card, the theoretical return is 95.40%.

What this page does not show

No regular balls and no card details come through the feed, so there is no way for us to display the numbers drawn, the lines completed or the players' winnings. The multiplier shown here is not a payout on its own: it only pays on cards where a line is completed by the Mega Ball.

How to read this page

"Longest drought" sets the current wait for ×100 and ×50 against their averages. Rounds since ×100, ×50, ×25 or more and ×20 or more appear in the round tracker, along with earlier gaps. "Mega Ball multipliers" shows the share of each multiplier across 30 days, today, and the last 100 rounds.
